Each of our field crews is equipped with a total station and GPS surveying equipment to provide the following survey services: • Boundary Surveying • Topographic Mapping • Construction Surveying • Structural Surveying • As-built Surveys • Subdivision Platting • Legal Descriptions/Exhibits • ALTA/NSPS Surveys • Elevation Certificates • Public Records Research • Land Title Examination
Landscape Architecture
Our highly experienced, licensed landscape architects create beautiful designs and environments that connect buildings to the site and surrounding area. Drought tolerant, native plants are incorporated into distinctive designs that are well suited to the Colorado environment. We design active open space and recreation areas that feature playgrounds, picnic areas, shade shelters, trails and multi-purpose sports fields. We design unique landscapes that focus on creating a sense of place for individual lots to large, commercial and residential properties.
Structural Engineering
Our partners have more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of public infrastructure projects, including transportation engineering, railroads, structural engineering, residential, commercial and industrial projects. We use our diverse knowledge and experience in understanding the requirements and limitations of each project with our project management approach. Quality control and design conflict resolution is key to any project. We are experienced in resolving design issues to form consensus among team members.
Traffic Analysis and Roadway Design
Vortex has produced Level 1-3 Traffic Impact Studies with our partners for numerous projects. We’ve completed numerous traffic engineering and highway design projects in Colorado. We collect site specific data for vehicle/pedestrian traffic counts and calculate trip generation, distribution and assignments. Whether your project involves a single-family residential development or a mixed-use center, we have the experience to provide the technical traffic analysis and design for your project.
Wetland Delineation and Permitting
Our wetland experts and environmental scientists conduct thorough and extensive site-specific wetland review and boundary confirmation analysis when wetlands are involved in a project. Compliance with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act is ensured through accurate field investigation to document natural and irrigated hydrology conditions, collect site samples, document existing and dominate vegetation and soil types. We assist clients with permitting through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers when needed.
Geotechnical Hazards Services
We know the importance of site-specific field investigation and analysis for every project. Work is performed by a Colorado registered professional engineer to produce a detailed report describing the geological setting of each site, results from field investigation work, laboratory analysis/testing results and geologic interpretation for potential or existing geologic hazards, constraints and water and mineral resources. Recommendations are made for the most appropriate roadway construction and building foundations for each project.
Drainage and Stormwater Design, Permitting, Management
We understand the need for precise design solutions when addressing drainage and stormwater control issues. Our professional engineers utilize a comprehensive design strategy for maintaining predevelopment runoff characteristics and protecting natural resources known as Environmental Site Design, which relies on integrating site design, natural hydrology and smaller control devices to capture and treat runoff. We routinely design solutions for drainage and stormwater challenges while ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
Floodplain Permitting and Management
With our extensive experience, floodplain design, management and permitting is a service that we routinely provide our clients. Certified Floodplain Managers help guide responsible land use decisions to protect citizens and property in a community.
Irrigation Water Design and Management
Proper system planning and design is essential to Irrigation Water Management (IWM) and requires thoughtful consideration of many elements. While designing the most efficient and appropriate system for our clients, major consideration is given to the amount of available irrigation water, soil types, the intended use of the system and the future management of the system. Vortex has extensive experience designing irrigation systems, working with local laterals and irrigation companies.
Design/Build
We provide design/build services with a clear understanding of technical design and practical construction solutions. Vortex has completed a number of residential, commercial and industrial projects involving new facilities, renovations, repairs and remodeling projects.
