A new large fire station, and training center was designed and built to replace an existing outdated, and out-grown fire station for the growing communities of Parachute and Battlement Mesa. The facility was designed to not only meet the needs of the fire district, but also for the need for community space to hold gatherings, classes or other private or public community events. The building itself includes such spaces as a large apparatus bay, district offices, training rooms, equipment storage space, bunker gear laundry room and equipment, meeting spaces, private living quarters/kitchen/sleeping rooms for the fire station staff. Also included in the project are two large community rooms that can also be converted into a single space large enough to hold up to 150 people. Serving the community space is also a large public kitchen that can be used to cater events in the community spaces.
